CHAMOTTE IS LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF HAMBURG.

Our studio is meant for Members, Workshops and Events.
It’s made up of 200m², features 8 potter's wheels, 40 stands for individual and group work, lounge,
pantry kitchen and tons of light.

24/6 Tuesday - Sunday

OPEN for everyone:
Wednesdays, 11:00-14:00
Saturdays, 13:00-15:00

ABOUT OUR SPACE AND EQUIPMENT

  • EQUIPMENT:

    8 potter's wheels, 40 ergonomic workstations, glazing tables, slab roller, tools and 2 kilns. We have everything you need to start your ceramic projects.

  • CLAY SELECTION:

    Various clays (stoneware, 1240 °C) available for purchase, suitable for wheel and hand-building.

  • VARIETY OF GLAZES:

    Wide range of glazes included,
    perfect for brave experiments

  • BASIC CLAY TOOLS:

    All the essential tools for working with clay are provided.

  • PERSONAL STORAGE:

    Every member gets a private shelf for their arts, tools and items. 

  • PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE:

    Our mentor team always offers guidance and support.

  • KILN RENTAL:

    Fire larger projects, accommodating your individual needs.

  • ROOM TO GROW:

    We're committed to expanding our space, including more wheels, kilns, and introducing
    3D printers and special workshops
    as required by our community. 

  • MINI KITCHEN:

    A cozy space for brewing coffee or tea, adding comfort to your creative sessions. 

  • RETAIL OPPORTUNITY:

    A coming showroom to showcase and sell your works as a platform to connect
    with your customers.

OUR TEAM

We’re Paulina and Maciej, a couple of architects-turned-ceramicists,
authors of Swawole Atelier.

We’re blending two decades of experience in traditional and experimental claywork, creating stunning ceramics for top-notch cafes and Michelin-starred restaurants, while striving to make the beauty of ceramics more accessible and appreciated by all.

We’ve brought our experience to establish
Chamotte, Hamburg's first open and flexible Pottery Collective.
The idea came to life during our road trip across the Western USA and Mexico, where we got inspired by their thriving ceramic communities.
